Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding the personal information collected about them by businesses. This page describes those rights, the personal information FiberContractorInsurance.com collects, and how you can exercise your privacy choices.
This page applies to California residents. For general privacy information (all users), see our Privacy Policy. For details on how we operate as an educational and referral resource, see About.
In the last 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:
We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, payment card information, precise geolocation, biometric information, or sensitive personal information from this site.
When you submit a quote request, you provide prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) for FiberContractorInsurance.com, Altamira Insurance Agency, and partner brokers in our network to contact you at the phone number and email address you provide — including by autodialed and prerecorded calls, SMS/text messages, and email — regarding insurance quotes and related services. This consent applies even if your number is registered on a federal or state Do Not Call list.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You may still obtain a quote or purchase insurance without providing autodialed / prerecorded call consent; contact us directly by phone or use the web form without checking the consent box.
Message and data rates may apply to any SMS/text messages. You can opt out at any time:
What we share. FiberContractorInsurance.com operates as a lead-referral service. When you submit a quote request, we share the personal information you provide with one or more licensed insurance brokers in our network — typically Altamira Insurance Agency (the site’s parent brokerage) and, where Altamira does not hold appointments for your state, coverage need, or trade classification, one or more partner brokers who do. Each broker who receives your quote request contacts you under their own compliance obligations.
Whether this is a “sale” under CCPA/CPRA. Under the CCPA/CPRA definition, the sharing described above may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information because we may receive valuable consideration (a referral fee or commission share) when a broker binds coverage from a quote request. You have the right to opt out of this sale/sharing at any time by submitting a request through the form below or by contacting us.
What we don’t do. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertising networks, or third parties unrelated to fulfilling your quote request. We do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your information with government or regulatory bodies except where required by law.
Global Privacy Control. We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal to our site, we will treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale/sharing of your personal information under CCPA/CPRA, subject to identity verification for California residents where required.
As a California resident, you have the following rights under CCPA/CPRA:
To exercise any of the rights above, submit a verifiable request using either method below:
We will verify your identity before responding. For most requests, verification involves confirming information you previously provided through the site.
Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf, but we may require written proof of authorization and independent verification of your identity.
We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days of receipt, as required by CCPA. If we need additional time, we may extend the response window by an additional 45 days, in which case we’ll notify you of the extension and the reason.
Requests are handled at no cost to you.
Quote request information is retained for the purpose of fulfilling your quote request and complying with legal and business record-keeping requirements. Typical retention is 30 to 90 days for the active quote process, followed by up to 24 months for business and legal purposes, after which data is deleted or de-identified unless a longer retention is required by law.
Google Analytics data is retained according to Google’s default settings (typically 14 months) and is used in aggregated form for site performance analysis.
Use the form below to submit an access, deletion, correction, opt-out, or portability request. All fields marked with an asterisk are required.
We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices or rates, provide you a different level or quality of services, or suggest that you will receive a different price or quality of service because you exercised your CCPA/CPRA rights.
For questions about this page or about the exercise of your CCPA/CPRA rights, use the contact form or reach the site’s parent brokerage at Altamira Insurance Agency.
